The end of summer is here, September with its back to school feeling (or reality) is upon us and we are back, too, bringing you colour related news from Belgium and around the world.
Welcome Joanna van Gent
ICA-Belgium is getting some new, youthful energy! We welcome our new volunteer, Joanna van Gent, who will be helping us with social media for 3 months.
Here is what she says about herself:
Hello everybody! My name is Joanna. I am 25 years old and I just graduated in European Studies. I love to work internationally and help other people with my expertise/skills. My hobbies: anything creative (drawing, writing, painting, you name it), meeting friends, dancing, and being in nature (for a walk for example). Colours have always fascinated me! I have always liked colours and that interest grew even more when I learnt a bit about the significance and the background of colours. What also contributed to my colour interest is that my mother (none less than Anna Maria Nyk) has always explained about colours. So, as long as I can remember, colours are essential to my life! This summer, I help ICA-Belgium with social media, especially for the upcoming Workshop Colour Forecast Research. It is interesting and valuable to help ICA-Belgium!
Welcome Joanna, we are very happy to have you!
If you would like to volunteer for ICA-Belgium, please get in touch with us at ica@ica-belgium.org and let us know more about you and how you think you could contribute to ICA-Belgium. We are a nonprofit organisation, run entirely by volunteers, always looking for ways to grow, develop and connect.
Here is a little video made by Joanna, sharing her impression of the exhibition True Colors at the Kunstmuseum in The Hague, the Netherlands.
What is the role of colour in artwork? What does colour mean to you?
The exhibition is on show until 29 September 2024.
