ICA-Belgium's Walk&Talk / Meet&Learn
Josef and Anni Albers, Iconic Couple of Modernism
29 June 2024, 11:00
Villa Empain, Av. Franklin Roosevelt 67, 1050 Brussels
(members-only)
Join us on the 29th of June at 11h in Villa Empain in Brussels for ICA-Belgium's Walk & Talk / Meet & Learn event for members.
We will be visiting the exhibition Josef and Anni Albers: Iconic Couple of Modernism, the first exhibition dedicated to their work in Belgium.
Let us share experiences about our interaction with the work and teaching of Josef Albers while visiting the exhibition together.
What did we learn from him? How did his views on colour influence our perception and understanding of colour? How did Josef Albers make an impact on teaching colour? These are just a few subjects we can discuss.
The Venue
The exhibition is held at the Villa Empain, a masterpiece of Brussels Art Deco architecture, built at the beginning of the 1930s by Swiss/Belgian architect Michel Polak.
Share
Each participant is invited to share about one of Josef Albers's (or Anni's) works, or a related story, or tell about an impression their work and ideas had left. This is, of course, voluntary, and you are welcome to just watch and listen while we go around the exhibition.
If you are a member of ICA-Belgium and would like to join us on this Walk&Talk / Meet&Learn event, please send us an email to ica@ica-belgium.org to let us know you will be coming. You can also bring along a family member.
If you are not yet a member, now could be a good opportunity to apply for membership. Read more about it here.
* The full entrance fee to the exhibition is 12€ and should be paid individually. Free entrance with the Belgian museum pass.
