Looking back to a Walk & Talk / Meet & Learn event with Heleen Sintobin
On Sunday, 22nd of June, we visited the exhibition Colour. Seeing beyond pigment, taking place at Z33 - House for Contemporary Art, Design & Architecture in Hasselt, Belgium.
Our guide through the exhibition was Heleen Sintobin, a designer whose fascinating work was part of the exhibition.
We had the opportunity to learn about the research and painstaking process behind the mesmerising artwork, featuring structural colour in all its iridescent beauty.
Despite the heat wave that hit Belgium, we enjoyed seeing each other and discovering new aspects of colour together.
A big thank you to Heleen Sintobin for a wonderful tour!

Vinciane Lacroix
Chromagenesis - new website (English / French):
Do colours have the power to fascinate you?
Do certain paintings appeal to you for their colours? What if we could free them from their form to capture their essence?
Chromagenesis, a process invented by Vinciane Lacroix, recomposes the colours of masterpieces to reveal their chromatic soul.
How should the pixels of a painting be organised? Which properties should be used? Vinciane has developed unique protocols, blending precise adjustments with manual interventions to surprise and enchant.

On her website she explains her process in detail. Rediscover painters such as van Gogh, Gauguin and Ensor through colour, with Chromageneses of a selection of their works.
Through Chromagenesis, Vinciane Lacroix explores the bridges between art, science, and technology.

Hidden Colour: A Colour Workshop
13 July and 14 September 2025, Eindhoven, the Netherlands
Tina Stieger is hosting two colour workshops in the Netherlands - one on 13 July and another on 14 September 2025.
In these workshops, participants engage with their surroundings by collecting natural materials such as leaves, petals, bark, and flowers. These gathered elements form the basis for creating personal colour palettes and visual compositions.
The process encourages close observation — revealing the subtle variations of tone found in nature, whether in rural or urban environments — while also allowing space for an intuitive, sensory approach to colour.
A valuable aspect of the workshop is the exchange that takes place among participants. Each person brings a unique way of seeing, and these shared perspectives often lead to new insights and inspiration. The final presentations frequently spark fresh ideas and open up new ways of approaching colour.

Colour Exhibitions
All Over
Horta Museum, Brussels, until 17 August 2025
From carpets to wallpaper, from upholstery fabrics to clothing patterns, ornamentation defines our daily lives and reflects the spirit of the times. The exhibition All Over explores and questions the evolution of patterns and colours in interior design between 1910 and 1940.
Organized into three chapters, the exhibition spans thirty years in Belgium and Europe, covering upholstery fabrics and fashion, carpets, and wallpapers.
Rare textiles and creations, whether signed or anonymous, that shaped the interiors of the time have been carefully selected, offering a fresh perspective on decorative arts in the early 20th century.

The exhibition brings together the Antwerp avant-garde movement and De Stijl. Discover how geometric abstract art shaped the early 20th century and pursued cross-border ideals.
The exhibition showcases drawings, paintings, architectural designs, graphic works, and furniture by artists such as Theo van Doesburg, Cornelis van Eesteren, Jozef Peeters, and Vilmos Huszár. These works highlight how Antwerp’s community-based art and De Stijl complemented each other while also differing in their approach to abstraction.
